Passo dei Pecorai means Pass of the shepherds. It's a Etruscan place situated in a strategic place to visit Tuscany. It's easy to arrive, it's easy to go. The main street (SR2-SP3-SP222), which pass trough the village it was built as a railway connecting Florence to Greve in Chianti in 1870. In 1920 the railway was removed and it remains the straighter, the larger and the fastest way to arrive in Chianti. The Residence and "B&B" it's in part in the original house dating back at XVI century. Obviously spaces sometimes are limited or strange compared to new apartments or new rooms in a new building but this is the charm of old houses. At the moment you can find any solution for you: families with children, couples, singles, group of friends, bikers and even for handicapped. From normal rooms to small or large apartments completely furnished of linen, towels. (sponge for professional use, washed and air-dried here), forks, knives and so on. Beds and mattress are orthopaedic and usually large 85cm instead the more common 80cm. More comfortable. Rooms and apartments are furnished with original period furnishings restored and complemented by the modern style. The beds in wrought iron, terracotta floor and every time we find a unique piece, we integrate the furnishings. All apartments have independent boilers for heating and hot water. Each two rooms, the same. For any problem we'd never be totally without solution and not even you. We can change your room or apartment and we can work to fix without disturbing. All apartments and rooms have independent entrances so you free to came back even late at night. On the back side of the building there is a garden large about 7000mq, with tables, chairs and pool. Feel free to help yourself to find your better place and no service will be charged. Easy, simple and not expensive. Usually we do not need air condition but in all accommodations you will find fans Like all places closed to a river, in winter is cold humid, in summer, nights, are fresh and not conditioned by cement or asphalt as it happens in Florence for example. Degrees can be less than 10°C compared from down town. Really fantastic. Write down "Passo dei Pecorai" on your gps and you will arrive at the entrance. To be a historic place has some vantages as to be a geographic location. The village is well connected with Florence downtown by public transportation on working days, from Monday to Saturday included. You can leave your own car here and visit the city without problem of parking, including costs or traffic. Easy to reach all the touristic centres of Tuscany in maximum 1-1:30hr with your own car. Close by, there is our restaurant run by Casprini's since 1913. We prepare even jam for breakfast. Mostly of things are home-made including part of the starters and desserts. We have a marvellous collection of 32000 bottles of Chianti since 1911 and some important whisky bottles. Take a taste if you are gourmet. The hours are: - For breakfast: 08:00 to 10:30, - For lunch: 12:00-14:00, - For dinner: 19:00-21:30 (winter) 19:00 to 22:00 (summer). For any needing do not hesitate to ask and welcome aboard. I letti in ferro battuto, pavimenti in cotto e ogni volta che troviamo un pezzo unico, si integrano gli arredi. Tutti gli appartamenti sono dotati di caldaie indipendenti per riscaldamento e acqua calda. Ogni due camere, lo stesso. Per qualsiasi problema non saremmo mai del tutto senza soluzione e nemmeno voi. Possiamo cambiare la vostra camera o appartamento e possiamo lavorare per risolvere senza disturbare. Tutti gli appartamenti e le camere hanno ingresso indipendente così liberi di tornavano anche di sera tardi. Sul retro dell'edificio si trova un giardino grande circa 7000 mq con tavoli, sedie e piscina. Sentitevi liberi di fare da soli per trovare il vostro posto migliore e non sarà addebitato nessun servizio. Facile, semplice e non costoso. Di solito non abbiamo bisogno di aria condizionata, ma in tutti gli alloggi si trovano i ventilatori. Come tutti i luoghi vicini a un fiume in inverno è freddo umido, in estate le notti sono fresche e non condizionate da cemento o asfalto come accade a Firenze per esempio. Possono esserci temperature inferiori a 10 ° C rispetto dal centro storico. Davvero fantastico. Annotare "Passo dei Pecorai" il tuo GPS e si arriva all'ingresso. Per essere un luogo storico ha alcuni vantaggi come ad essere in una posizione geografica. Il paese è ben collegato con il centro di Firenze con i mezzi pubblici nei giorni lavorativi, dal Lunedì al Sabato incluso. È possibile lasciare la propria auto e visitare la città senza problemi di parcheggio, comprensivo dei costi o traffico. Gianna's is a ONE-ROOM B & B on the second floor of a 15th century building situated at the northern end of Florence's historical centre. Unfortunately, there is NO LIFT: however the 34 stairs are divided into four flights and, by Florentine standards at least, are not steep! Gianna's B & B is close to the Academy Art gallery, St Mark's Museum, the central San Lorenzo market and the Fortezza da Basso exhibition and trade-fair centre. The main railway station (Firenze Santa Maria Novella) is a fifteen-minute walk, the Cathedral a ten-minute walk. Gianna's B & B has only ONE ROOM. This room is on two levels and can accommodate a maximum of THREE adults: there is a single bed on the upper level and two single beds or a double bed on the lower level. Upon request one of the armchairs can be converted into a narrow single bed (75 cm wide). The bathroom (shower, hand-basin, bidet and lavatory) is on the upper level: a shower-cap and hair-dryer are provided. Te room has two large windows, hydronic heating and air-conditioning. Two armchairs, a large book case with books in Italian and English and a table with three chairs (where breakfast is served) are on the lower level as is the little kitchenette which contains a small fridge, a toaster, a sink and an electric kettle. Plates, cups, glasses, cutlery, a tea-pot and a coffee brewer are provided should you wish to prepare yourselves a snack or light meal. Coffee, yoghourt, fruit, biscuits, breakfast cereals, orange juice, water, crackers, and a selection of teas are also provided at no additional charge. A generous freshly-prepared Continental breakfast is served in your room at the time of your choice. Please let us know before-hand if you have particular dietary requirements.
