The great:
- The pool: beautiful view, well kept
- The staff: very friendly and accommodating
- The rooms: clean, lovely design, private (we were in padi hitam). Great price for the rooms.
- The tours: favorites were the scooter tour and mount Batur.
Improvements:
- the hot tub wasn't hot. It ranged from cold to almost warm. I would recommend keeping it a few degrees warmer. On the slightly colder evenings, I would have liked to use it more
- I understand nature noise is unavoidable in Bali (rooters, ducks, etc. And I'm NOT a light sleeper) and it's part of the fun. However, it does make it tough to relax beyond 6 am. I would recommend putting some cheap ear plugs in the guests room to use. We bought some while in Ubud and it helped with the rest of our mornings. I think it would be a cheap way to make your guests more comfortable while in your rooms.
- The last critique I have is that the car rentals were far more expensive than any other place in Indonesia that we visited. We were in Lombok and an average 8 hour car with driver was 350,000 IDR. At your hotel, it was much higher. I'm not 100% why that is, but it seemed higher than needed and put us off slightly in doing more day trips.
- The night market tour should definitely be done by a guide that speaks english well. Our guide didn't and it was hard to know what to try or what even some of the meals were because our guide wasn't able to translate and honestly was on his phone most of the time.
