Welcome to Manos Studios! We are close to Heraklion Port and Airport and it is easy to get to our hostel by using the bus number 6. Our sandy beach is just 300 meters away! Manos Studios are located in Amoudara (6 kms western of Heraklion) the beautifull resort of the island of Crete and Greece, which is known for its long sandy beach. Amoudara is not far from the center of the town Heraklion, the airport and the port as all above have less than 10 kilometers distance between them. Just 100 meters from Manos Studios you have the choice of many super markets, cafes and restaurants while the sandy beach is just a 5 minutes walk from our door. Manos Studios Hostel is a total of 11 studios with fully equipped kitchens, with a reception in the entry of the building and of course our swimming pool with the appropriate atmosphere to enjoy moments of relaxation. Keep our hostel as a base during your stay in Crete and we will help you to get the better of this unique island with the following services: Information for bus schedules/book/organize trips to the west and east parts of Crete like Chania, Elafonisi, Balos, Samaria Gorge, Agios Nikolaos, Spinalonga, Golden Island etc. Our private rooms are equipped with kitchen, fridge, air-conditioning (extra charge) and a safe box. Our male and female en-suite dormitories have the extra benefit of free air-conditioning, they are regular hotel rooms and offer kitchen and fridge as well.

Η Λευκάδα είναι το τέταρτο σε έκταση ελληνικό νησί του Ιονίου πελάγους και των Επτανήσων. Βρίσκεται νότια της Κέρκυρας και πλησίον των ακτών της Αιτωλοακαρνανίας όπου στην αρχαιότητα πίστευαν ότι ήταν χερσόνησος αυτής. Σήμερα χωρίζεται από τον μικρό αλλά ιστορικό πορθμό του Δρεπάνου. Έχει σχήμα ελλειψοειδές. Κυριότερες πηγές πλούτου ο τουρισμός, η ελαιουργία, αμπελουργία και η αλιεία. Από τις ανασκαφές που έκανε ο Ντέρπφελντ υποστηρίζει ότι το νησί αυτό είναι η πραγματική (Ομηρική) Ιθάκη του Οδυσσέα. Σήμερα αποτελεί ομώνυμο νομό με πρωτεύουσα την πόλη της Λευκάδας. Κοντά στο νησί βρίσκονται οι μικρές νησίδες Μεγανήσι, Σπάρτη, Σκορπιός, Αρκούδι, Άτοκος, Καστός, Κάλαμος, Μαδουρή, Σκορπίδι κ.ά. Παλαιότερα ονομαζόταν Άγια Μαύρα (Σάντα Μάουρα) από τον ναό της Αγίας Μαύρας που είχαν οικοδομήσει οι Φράγκοι κατά τον 13ο αιώνα στο ομώνυμο επιθαλάσσιο φρούριο. Η Λευκάδα διαθέτει πολλές γραφικές παραλίες απαράμιλλης ομορφιάς που χαρακτηρίζονται από τα γαλαζοπράσινα νερά τους τα οποία τις κατατάσσουν στις ομορφότερες της χώρας αλλά και ολόκληρης της Μεσογείου. Η διάσημη παραλία της Πόρτο Κατσίκι έχει κατά καιρούς ψηφιστεί απο διεθνή τουριστικά περιοδικά ως η ομορφότερη παραλία της Μεσογείου. Ανήκει στην περιφέρεια Ιόνιων νησιών. Ο νομός έχει, κατά την απογραφή του 2005, 27.938 κατοίκους, ενώ το νησί της Λευκάδας έχει 26.183 κατοίκους. Πρωτεύουσα του νομού είναι η πόλη της Λευκάδας με 13.947 κατοίκους. Από τα πιο γνωστά χωριά είναι η Λυγιά (739 κ.), το Νυδρί (1.748 κ.), η Καρυά (1.104), τα Λαζαράτα (454) και η Νικιάνα (666 κ.).
