Vaikom - the oldest township in Kottayam District, Kerala which has carved a niche in the annals of the Indian history by being the venue of the Vaikom Satyaghraha against untouchability, in which Mahatma Gandhi and Periyar Ramaswamy had participated. In the core of the serene and sublime environment of Vaikom backwaters stands Whitegate Residency - a hospitality division of Udayapadmam Group of Companies.
Vaikom is one of the most revered Shiva shrines in South India.
Vaikom House Boat. Kumarakom,Vaikom and Kuttanad are well-renowned for its originating emerald backwater system which is spread over an extensive 75 km.
