An ethnic wooden-style Tourist Lodge on the edge of the jungle and just 10 minutes walk to the beach outside Miri, Sarawak.
We regret the property is not recommended for under 12 years of age due to the nature of the accommodation, but if families book it is at their own risk and responsibility for the children.

|
A large double aspect room with 4 large single beds, two ceiling fans. The shower (hot and cold) room and toilet are separate next door to the room. Patio dark glass sliding doors lead onto a small sitting area and onto the garden; the pool is just a few steps away.

Superior Room
|
Brick built with marbled floors and wood-panelled walls, these rooms are in the main house complex and all have adjustable ceiling fans which give a perfect temperature at night. Some rooms have additional air-conditioning which is comfortable if you are planning to spend a lot of time in the room during the heat of the day.
Bathrooms have both hot and cold water showers, a handbasin and European style sitting toilets.

All wood longhouse style rooms in an annexe below the main building. Rooms have ceiling lights and fans only plus mosquito nets for complete protection from insects at night.
Shared showers and toilets at the end of the building. This is real Borneo, but with security and some home comforts!

4-Bed Longhouse room

A large room in the centre of the Longhouse with 4 small single wooden beds built in. Cooled by ceiling fan and enjoying 4 large windows with lake views. Shared showers and toilets at the end of the building. Basic bedding, towels and small mosquito nets available and included.

Ambiance

The Lodge is designed for a quiet rest for travellers transiting Borneo or as a base from which to go out and explore the various areas and National Parks.
RECEPTION 8 am to midday and 4 pm to 8 pm. Rural area and transport difficult outside these times. |
Location

The Lodge is on the new coastal road, past Marriott Hotel and past Luak Bay, about 15 kms from the town and just 3 kms after BAKAM Village you will see a large green sign by the main road to "Treetops Lodge". Guests should try to arrive and check in by 6 p.m. Last buses from Miri are at 5.30 and 6.30 pm and taxis charge 50% extra after this time; sunset and dinner at 7 p.m.! |
Surroundings and Attractions

This is a rural Lodge for Tourists fashioned in the old style out of best hardwoods and situated in a small village surrounded by two acres of garden and woodland. A deserted beach is just 10 minutes walk along a small path and other walks nearby serve as a good introduction to the Borneo jungles. |
Special Features

Quiet, remote and peaceful. All meals can be had at the Lodge and a bus to town runs most hours of daylight. |
Dining

Set meals are provided daily - usually a light lunch (RM6 - 10) and a substantial evening meal of spicey meats, local rice and vegetables plus desert and tea or coffee (RM22).
Other choices can be prepared from the 'a la carte' menu.

Recreation
|
Plunge pool (15ft dia) with refreshing clean rainwater beside the verandah plus swimming at the beach. Badminton and table tennis; fishing in the dam, walks, excursions to Lambir, Niah and the crocodile farm. |
