- Great stay at this friendly hotel. Location perfect able to walk to all you need to see in a 3 day stay. Views from restaurant at night are breathtaking. Plenty of dining choices just around the corner. Reception even printed our boarding cards.

"immer gerne wieder"

- Zimmer mit tollem Blick und gutem Komfort, lediglich der Teppich hätte etwas gepflegter sein können. Sehr nettes Personal, gutes Frühstück

"Feedback - Excellent Place to stay"

- The Rast was recommended to me by a friend who stayed in Feb 2010 and she knew I wanted to book somewhere different for my husband's 60th birthday. From the time we were collected at the airport (June 2012) we were made to feel very welcome. On arrival, after receiving welcome drinks we were given a city map and had various sightseeing options explained to us regarding sights that we could visit comfortably each day. Most of these were within very comfortable walking distance of the hotel and we found it easy to find our way around. The people in Istanbul were very friendly and helpful - despite not always wishing to buy a carpet / handbag etc the locals still explained how to get to somewhere if we needed a helping hand.

The Rast is in a fantastic location with the roof terrace overlooking the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia, Topkapi Palace and the Bosphorus. You simply could not get a better view from anywhere. We had been advised to visit the 'Four Seasons' in the old town down by the Blue Mosque / Topkapi Palace but the view from their roof terrace would not have been as all encompassing as the Rast as the Rast is higher up the hill. We did visit the Four Seasons and ate in their restaurant but were very disappointed that their terrace was closed due to a private function - the meal was nice but not worth the £120 it cost. We enjoyed other meals costing £25 from local eateries just as much

The Rast breakfasts were superb - every type of tea, bread, roll,fresh fruit (mountains of sweet fresh cherries!), jams, honey, dried fruit, cereal, full english plus the more 'mediterranean' pates, cheeses, cured meats / sausages etc etc. I've never seen chocolate brownies, strawberry cheesecake, kiwi cheesecake, several different types of baklava and many other sweet options for breakfast before!

Breakfast is self serve and you can help yourself to as much as you wish - as many times as you wish. We decided to restrict ourselves to cereal, granary bread with honey and fresh fruit but gazed longingly at the cheesecakes and brownies.

The bedrooms were not luxurious but were more than large enough with double bed, large wardrobe and safe, colour TV, easy chair and dressing table with ensuite. The ensuite had a shower over the bath that was very hot and very powerful - excellent.

All of the staff were extremely helpful and courteous - and most spoke good English.

Would most definitely recommend and give 10/10.
