Mi padre fue hombre de mar ya desde su niñez, cuando de chiquillo andaba de “ Cho “en el barco de los marqueses de Foronda. Ello le sirvió de sobrenombre o nombre pues habría de acompañarle toda su vida. Pasando el tiempo estuvo de “ marmitón “ en el barco la “Marina “y hasta diez años de socorrista en la playa de Ribadesella. Pero si por algo fue conocido era por su gran humanidad y su asombrosa capacidad para predecir el tiempo, siendo consultado por marinos, agricultores y aún veraneantes acerca de cuanto sol iban a poder disfrutar.
Hombre querido que por derecho propio forma parte de Ribadesella, como testimonian la foto del “ Tarteru “ o el recuerdo en “ Gaspar “. Por todo ello he querido que mi padre nos siga acompañando dando su nombre al Hotel. |
