Hvar, family Dujmovic emblem, http://www.House-Zakaria.com

Guesthouse Zakaria is a name given to this house in honor to my grandfather Zakaria, whose ancestors lived for generations in Hvar. Zakaria became a nickname same as Bulic was the nickname of the whole Dujmovic tribe, both nicknames nowadays are spread out in our town, so it is no surprise some other houses have similar name.

I am a native Croatian from Hvar, my wife is Brazilian, and we both came to my hometown after many years abroad.

We continue our traditional family business – renting out rooms and accommodating tourists from all over the world.

Due to our long experiences abroad, we speak English, German, Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese.

We hope all of this can give you a taste of “home”.
Location
The most convenient way is to take one of the catamarans in Split: KAROLINA (11:30), ADRIANA (15:00), or KRILO (17:00). (Split-Hvar is 1 hour trip).
Alternatively, there are ferry boats departing from Split to Stari Grad. From the ferry port a public bus provides shuttling, about 15 min. drive to the city of Hvar.

From Dubrovnik to Hvar, the direct connection by boat occurs only twice a week, whereby, the bus connection via Split is very frequent – there are daily bus rides, (about every 2 hours Dubrovnik – Split).

The island of Korcula is connected to Hvar from Vela Luka and the town of Korcula by catamarans: KRILO or ADRIANA, both going early morning (on a daily basis).

If you contact us, we will send you the actual boat schedule!

(Avoid the connection to island of Hvar using shortcut: Drvenik – Sucuraj, as there is no bus going to the city of Hvar from this part of the island – you might have to pay expensive taxi ride).
Special Features
Hvar – The crown jewel of the Dalmatian archipelago.

The city of Hvar is an outstanding spot from among the island’s other medieval towns, and might give you a special touch to your vacation in Croatia or beyond.

Here you will find a typical Dalmatian environment, small beaches and fringed islands to hang out under the warm sun or in the shade of a fragrant pine forest. And yes, you are totally free to enjoy everything besides our crystal clear sea: fishing, sailing, diving, snorkeling or just having fun.

Nautical tourism in our intricate, fabulous archipelago is a unique experience, which is difficult to compare to any other place in Europe. The ancient town of Hvar is a historical heritage and treasures, has a calm and relaxing Mediterranean atmosphere, and also a sparkling nightlife during the summer.

Some of the attraction in Hvar:
From here start your day cruising to many attractive places around our island: Bol beach on Brac, and town of Korcula: The far instance highlight is a tour to two caves on islands Bisevo and Vis, a fantastic one-day outing. There are indeed many events taking place, both on land and on the sea.
Recreation
A Guesthouse with tradition.

Our centennial home is a typical Dalmatian stone house that belongs to the historical part of the town and is connected by charming alleys. It is located on a bay hill, with front side looking down on left side little bit to the sea and the neighboring islands, and on the right side little bit to the main square and the historical fortress.

Homey ambiance.

Our place is surrounded by gardens in a rustic ambiance. There is a spacious terrace equipped with tables, where you can meet other people and enjoy your meal with the view, which goes over the old roofs of Hvar.

From here, you can enjoy a short walk to the beaches, past the old center houses, along the picturesque sea shore. Indeed, most places are “around the corner”.
